OHIO - OB/GYN Laborist - Locums

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OB/GYN physician to provide Laborist coverage for an established Labor & Delivery program in Ohio. This is an ongoing opportunity created to support a growing laborist model focused on patient safety and comprehensive obstetrical care.

Assignment Details:

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Duration: Ongoing until permanent providers are hired

  • Schedule: 7 AM – 7 PM Laborist shifts

  • Ability to stack shifts available

  • Up to 7 consecutive shifts may be worked

  • Practice Setting: Labor & Delivery Unit

  • No outpatient clinic responsibilities

  • Epic EMR

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Labor and Delivery coverage

  • Care for unassigned OB patients presenting through the ED

  • Physician backup call for midwife coverage overnight

  • Emergency OB/GYN coverage as needed

  • Approximately 92 deliveries per month within the program

Required Procedures:

  • Routine Vaginal Deliveries

  • Decision Making for C-Sections

  • Complicated Deliveries

  • Breech Deliveries

  • Multiple Births

  • VBAC Management

  • Repair of 3rd and 4th Degree Lacerations

  • Tubal Ligations

  • Minor Laparoscopic Procedures

  • Open Gynecologic Surgery

Support Structure:

  • Dedicated Labor & Delivery nursing staff

  • Certified Nurse Midwife support

  • In-house Anesthesia coverage

  • On-site laboratory services

  • On-site ultrasound capabilities

  • Level III Nursery

Requirements:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible OB/GYN

  • Ohio license or willingness to obtain

  • ACLS, BLS, and PALS preferred (or willingness to obtain during credentialing)

  • NPDB Self-Query required for presentation

Compensation:

  • $1,800-$2,500
