We are seeking a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a call-only locum tenens opportunity with an established Trauma program. This assignment offers manageable surgical volume, excellent clinical support, and multiple coverage blocks throughout the year.

Assignment Details:

• Coverage Dates: September- December

• Schedule: 24-hour call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)

• Call-only coverage

• Trauma Center

• Approximately 200 cardiac and 200 thoracic cases annually

• Relatively low-volume call environment

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Cardiac Surgery

• Thoracic Surgery

• Inpatient call coverage

• Emergency surgical consultation

• Continuity of patient care through handoff to the permanent team

Support Structure:

• Physician Assistant support

• Resident support

• PAs take first call

• Established Cardiothoracic Surgery program

Requirements:

• Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon

• Must perform both Cardiac and Thoracic procedures

• Recent Cardiothoracic Surgery case logs within the past 12 months

• Active Texas license or active IMLC required

• Clean background required

Compensation:

• $2,800–$3,400 base pay plus call back
