NORTH CAROLINA - Anesthesiologist - Locums

Position Overview:
A hospital in North Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist to provide call coverage for their surgical and procedural services. This assignment includes both inpatient and outpatient cases, with a strong support team of CRNAs and comprehensive hospital resources.

Assignment Details:

  • Rates: $340 – $400/hr

  • Coverage Dates:

    • January 19 at 3 PM – January 26 at 3 PM

    • February 23 at 3 PM – March 2 at 3 PM

  • Schedule: Daily call from 3 PM–7 AM and 24-hour weekend call

  • Orientation: Required the day prior to first scheduled call

  • Call: Shared epidural call with 3 CRNAs

  • Must be able to start surgery within 30 minutes of call back

  • Case Volume: ~150 surgical cases/month + 100 endoscopy

  • Average 10–12 patients/day per anesthesiologist

  • Average 6 admissions/day and 3 admissions/night

  • Backup Responsibilities: ER and ICU (difficult intubations and spinals)

  • Facility: 2 main ORs, endo suite with 2 rooms, dedicated C-section OR

  • Procedures: General surgery, podiatry, pain management, OB/GYN, pediatric dental

  • EMR: Epic (HealthSpan)

Requirements:

  • Board-Certified Anesthesiologist

  • Comfortable managing epidural call and supervising CRNAs

  • Ability to serve as backup for ICU and ER procedures

  • Available for orientation prior to call start
