KANSAS - Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery - Locums

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join an established cardiovascular program in Kansas. This is a six-month locum assignment supporting a growing surgical service line and offers a balanced mix of clinic, operating room, inpatient care, and shared call responsibilities.

Assignment Details:

  • Start Date: October 1, 2026

  • Duration: Long-term/ ongoing

  • Schedule:

    • Approximately 2 weeks per month

    • One weekend of call per month

    • Weekday call during assigned weeks

  • Practice Setting:

    • Inpatient

    • Outpatient Clinic

    • Operating Room

  • Clinic Volume:

    • 6–7 consults per clinic day

    • Minimum one clinic day per week

  • Hospital Census:

    • 4–6 patients per day

  • EMR: Epic

Procedures:

  • CABG

  • Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR)

  • Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR)

  • Thoracic Surgery

  • Vascular Surgery

  • Carotid Procedures

  • TAVR

  • TCAR

  • Endovascular AAA Repair

Support Structure:

  • 5 Advanced Practice Providers

  • Dedicated RN, LPN, and Medical Assistant

  • Dedicated CVICU team

  • Perfusionists

  • Dedicated Cardiovascular OR team

  • Collaborative multidisciplinary cardiovascular program

Requirements:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery

  • Completion of an accredited Cardiothoracic Surgery residency/fellowship

  • Active Kansas license (or in process, considered case-by-case)

  • BLS and ACLS required

  • DEA registration

  • Adult cardiac surgery experience required

  • Thoracic and vascular surgery experience preferred

Compensation:
Clinic / OR Days

  • $3,000–$3,500 per day (includes up to 8 hours)

  • $400/hour callback after 8 hours

24-Hour Call

  • $3,000–$3,500 per day (includes 4–6 hours)
