We are seeking a Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity with an established Trauma program. This is a call-only assignment offering recurring monthly coverage, manageable case volume, and outstanding clinical support.

Assignment Details:

• Start Date: August

• Duration: Ongoing

• Coverage: Approximately 1 week per month

• Providers able to cover every other month will also be considered

• Schedule: 24-hour call coverage only

• Trauma Center

• Approximately 200 cardiac and 200 thoracic cases annually

• Relatively low-volume call environment

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Cardiac Surgery

• Thoracic Surgery

• Inpatient call coverage

• Emergency surgical consultation

• Continuity of care through handoff to the permanent team

Support Structure:

• Physician Assistant support

• Resident support

• PAs take first call

• Established Cardiothoracic Surgery program

Requirements:

• Board-Certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon

• Must perform both Cardiac and Thoracic procedures

• Active Texas license or active IMLC required

• Recent Cardiothoracic Surgery case logs from the past 12 months required

• Clean background required

Compensation:

• $3,500–$5,000 per day depending on volume and experience
